CUSTOM CERAMIC SIGNS IN LA PALMA
Unique designs for homes, businesses and gifts · Sun and salt-resistant
At Lucero Cerámica Atelier we produce unique handmade ceramic pieces in La Palma, with special dedication to the creation of street signage and numbering, tile plaques with names of places of interest, homes, premises and businesses, as well as ceramic signs with the image of the Virgen de las Nieves, made using an exclusive artisanal technique from the “Canseco” workshop.
Each piece is handmade, combining tradition and detail to offer resistant, durable signs with designs inspired by Canarian identity.
ABOUT US
We are a small handmade ceramics workshop that continues the tradition of the “Canseco” ceramics workshop, founded in 1996 by Don José Pérez Brito and Doña Teresa González Brito, known in La Palma as Pepe and Teresa. Their works – plaques with names of places of interest, establishments and public spaces, together with ceramic signs of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves – form part of the cultural and visual landscape of the island of La Palma.
The relocation of the workshop from Los Llanos de Aridane to Santa Cruz de La Palma in November 2024 was carried out in order to maintain the commitment to artistic quality and the island’s ceramic tradition.
We work with artisanal techniques to create ceramics in La Palma that not only decorate, but also tell a story: that of its streets, its houses and its most representative symbols.
OUR CERAMIC SIGNS
Turn any place into something unique with our handmade personalised signs. We design exclusive pieces ideal for house façades, rural houses, businesses and shops, as well as plaques with street or estate names. Our aim is for each piece to be exclusive and to reflect the identity of the person who commissions it.
You choose: typography, colours, finishes and style to create a fully bespoke ceramic sign, adapted to your space.
In addition, our signs are made to last: each piece is fired in a ceramic kiln, fixing its colours so they resist sun and salt air and retain their beauty, both outdoors and indoors, for years.
OUR "LA VIRGEN" COLLECTION
We are pleased to present the “La Virgen” collection, which is our featured collection and, without a doubt, the most beloved. It is a heartfelt tribute to history, tradition and the very special bond that unites the people of La Palma with their patron saint, Nuestra Señora de las Nieves. Her image forms part of the island and can be found in different corners, accompanying those who feel her close. These pieces reflect the devotion and tradition of the island, becoming a decorative element very present in homes, façades and emblematic spaces.
Each of our tile signs is made by hand and is unique. Some pieces are already available in our shop, ready to find their home. And, if you are looking for something even more special, you can commission your own personalised sign, adding names, dates or details that make it something truly yours.

OUR COMMITMENT TO LA PALMA BIOSPHERE
For us it is a true honour and, at the same time, a responsibility – to be part of the community of the La Palma World Biosphere Reserve as a Partner Company - Empresa Amiga.
This recognition represents a commitment that goes beyond an external obligation: it is a responsibility towards our own way of working, craftsmanship and life. Our respect for nature does not arise from a requirement, but forms part of who we are. We recover ceramic tradition through artisanal techniques combined with personalised designs. We use durable, natural materials resistant to sun and salt air, which extends the lifespan of each product and reduces the need for replacement in the long term.
Aware of the ecological and cultural value of our island, we naturally assume a firm commitment to more sustainable and environmentally respectful management. The workshop facilities have been conceived from the outset under this principle. In this regard, we have incorporated a purification system specifically designed for the treatment of liquid waste in ceramic workshops. This system effectively collects residues of glazes, clays and slips, preventing them from reaching the sewage system and facilitating their safe and responsible disposal. The purification installation not only improves the environmental performance of the workshop, but also reinforces our intention to raise awareness and expand ecological consciousness within the sector.
We affirm that respect for nature should not be perceived as an effort, but as an inherent attitude, our identity, a style of behaviour that forms part of awareness and is naturally reflected in every decision we make.

Our respect for nature does not arise from a requirement, but forms part of who we are.
